Introduction

 

Musabani Block was established on 2nd October 1957 under the  first phase of community development program. Around 45 km from its District Headquarter -Jamshedpur, it is approachable by road via NH-33 and via Jadugora. It falls under Ghatshila Sub-Division.

 

Geographical and Physical features

 

Situated amidst of beautiful language landscape surrounded by the mountains. Originally constituted of fourteen (14) Panchayats. Seven (7) Panchayats parted off to create a new block known as Dumaria. Mainly a tribal populated block domainated by the SANTHAL tribe with their own culture and belief system of ZAHER the sacred place. It is also land of some of the primitive tribe tribe like birhor and sabar (Kariya). Thus it also provide and interesting ground for Anthropological.

Language - Santhal , with its own script known as AL-Chiki. Main Occupation - Agriculture , Literacy -48.6 % , Industry - Hindustan Copper Limited. Rivers - Swarnarekha and Sankha. Police Station - Musabani (06585-75729) Jadugora (0657-730345) Forest Range Office - Musabani(06585-75698)

Attraction

 

Musabani Block is famous for the Sidheswar Temple at Rakha Mines and Jaher Sthan, holy place of the Adivasis.

Bhimkand Jaher (Palashbani), 10 kilometers from the block headquarters depicts the unique culture of the Adivasi Society.

The Nearest Airport to Block headquarter is Jamshedpur Airport at Sonari which is under direct control of TISCO . The  distance  from Mosabani Block Headquarter is 60 Kms away from Jamshedpur.
